The event may have wrapped up, but the waves of pride and inspiration are still washing over us! Looking back at our “Big Cleaning Activity” held on May 15, 2026, at Taonga Beach, we couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished together. Organized by the passionate team at Khaolak Emerald Beach Resort & Spa, this event brought together eco-conscious volunteers with one shared mission: to heal our ocean.
Our eco-adventure kicked off at 1:00 PM under a bright sky and a refreshing sea breeze. Armed with reusable trash bags, protective gloves, and heaps of energy, our volunteers combed the shoreline. Our main goal was not just to clean the sand, but to protect marine life—especially our beloved sea turtles—from the hazards of plastic pollution.
It’s easy to overlook tiny pieces of trash like bottle caps, straws, or torn fishing nets, but together they form a massive threat to marine ecosystems. Seeing everyone spot and remove these hidden hazards was incredibly rewarding.
The beach was buzzing with teamwork and positively. By the end of the afternoon, we managed to collect an impressive amount of waste, leaving Taonga Beach looking pristine, with its soft white sand and crystal-clear waters restored to their natural glory.
